AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

Fall 2010

This year, we will be implementing a new audition policy. Please read through the following information carefully.

For all non-string players auditioning for orchestra -

All new students, including students changing degree/course will audition for orchestra.

Returning students will not be required to audition - seatings will be assigned as usual by your faculty.

For all string players auditioning for
orchestra -

All new students, including students changing degree/course will audition for orchestra.

Returning students will not be required to audition, however...

Any student wishing to be considered for concertmaster or section principals should plan to participate in the August auditions. If you would like to audition, sign up on Tuesday, August 17th outside Room 408.

In the future, except for section principals, string seatings will be
rotational as determined by the Music Director and Chair of Strings.

Provisional seatings for the first concert, in alphabetical order, are now online. These may change and if you are not on this list, you still may be assigned later on. The exact assignment per stand will be done after the August auditions.

After the August auditions, the string assignments for the entire year will be posted, so anyone auditioning for principal will be considered for concerts for the whole season.
